It is a small, remote fishing village located on the banks of the Trusan River. The indigenous Bidayuh people mainly inhabit the town, and there are some other tribes (Malay, Chinese and Orang Ulu) living here as well. The local people depend on fishing and farming as their primary source of income and are known for their warm hospitality. The village is blessed with beautiful beaches and lush green forests and is becoming a popular destination for ecotourism activities such as jungle trekking, beach camping, and bird-watching.
