A teak equivalent has been built elsewhere and the following comparisons and up to a virtual halving of operating costs. Of the same size and for the same requirements, the teak vessel displaces 65 tons; draught 4ft. 6 ins., total horse-power 260, speed 12 knots; the light alloy craft displaces 21 tons, draws two feet nine inches and with 130 horse-power makes 13.5 knots.
