Institute of Aviation Medicine - at Farnborough - of inaugurating the 'Man Carrying Centrifuge' the most modern in Europe - and which cost £350,000 to produce . It has a three-fold purpose - research - clinical investigation and training. It Consists of a rotating arm about 60 ft. long with cabis at either end - and capable of reaching 30 'g' (i.e. 30 times the force of gravity) - a speed of 115m.p.h. An elaborate recording system is capa- cabins showing the subject's pulse,respiration, blood pressure and cardiac and brain functions.
