Inspired by the life of St.Francis of Assissi, the story begins from the year 1200, when he was 18. The film will start with Francis's early years of pleasure in medieval Assissi, with his going to war and being captured and held in Perugia, the sickness which transforms his vision and spirit , his devotion to lepers and beggars and disinheritance by his wealthy father. The film ends with Francis, divested of wordly possessions, leaving for Rome , to ask Pope innocent III's permission to preach to the friars. The Spirit and dialogue of the film are topical today in a world where the young question the values of the success oriented society.
