Stock Photo - May 05, 1953 - Ship with 507 aboard cut in two in crash: The British Railways steamer Duke of York, (4190 tons), with 437 passengers and 70 crew was cut in two in collision with the American cargo ship Haiti Victory (7607 tons) in the North Sea, 40 miloes east of Herwich early today. After the collision the Haiti Victory drew along side the Duke of York and took most of her passengers and some of the crew. and took her in tow.
