Stock Photo - May 05, 1953 - Ship with 507 aboard cut in two in crash: The British Railways steamer, Duke of York (4190 tons) with 437 passengers and 70 crew, was cut in two in collision with the American cargo ship Haiti Victory (7607 tons) in the North Sea, 40 miles east of Harwich, early this morning. After the collision, the Haiti Victory drew a longside the Duke of York and took off most of her passengers and some of her crew, and took her in two.
