Lt, Rotely out the lock from Nelson's head and in one of the letters sold with the ring he describes the incident:'On the morning after his death i want below to view the body and to procure a lock of hair as a memento, but Capt. Hardy had been before me and had out off the whole with the exception of a small lock at the back of the neck which i redeived.The ring, including some medals and papers, was sold for ?190.
