Found in pastures, grasslands of calcareous soils where host plant is found. Host plants Pimpinella saxifraga, Eryngium campestre, Falcaria vulgaris. Adults found on Knautia arvensis, Dianthus carthusianorum and Echium vulgare. Appear 3 weeks before Z purpuralis in same habitat. Threatened and endangered.
