Stock Photo - Nov. 11, 1966 - Master Pieces of the 18th Century: The fame of the Alte Pinakothek in Munich, this venerable and rich collection, which has a history of more than four hundred years and which owes its erection to the vigour and the intellect of great sovereigns, is based upon the wide insight into the European high culture, which give the great painters. Gothic renaissance and baroque reveal their creative mind and their poetry in the prime of the countries and landscapes. This selected concert of colours and shapes is now enriched by a new sound, one of the most delicate which the accident produced: French and Spanish masterpieces of the 18th century. They disclose new fields of the miraculous world of the rococo which Munich was denied till now to show. The new paintings from Pater, Lancret, Boucher, Greuze and Goya are pieces of delicate fascination which is completely manifested by the close view and even intensified by the view through the magnifier. It concerns the following paintings: Francois Boucher (1703-1770)' Shepherd Landscape' Greuze (1725-1805) 'A Genre Painting' Nicolas Lancret (1690 - 1745)' Shepherd Scene' de la tour (1704 - 1788) ' Gentleman Portrait' and 'Portrait' Jean Batiste Francois Pater (1695 - 1735)' Rural Idyl' Jose de Goya (1746 - 1828) 'Lady Portrait' The crowning of this coloured mosaic are the two paintings from La Tour and the one from the young Goya.
