Stock Photo - Nov. 11, 1970 - Man refused as midwife : For the present , the German Erich Nebel (Wiesbaden) has failed as masculine midwife. On November 3rd, 1970, the court of wiesbaden refused to allow the 35-year-old projectionist to go to a midwife school in Marburg whereby it referred to a law from 1938 saying that ply doctors and women can become obatetritian. the man's acting as midwife is considered as intervention into the woman's intimate sphere. In spite of this decision Nobel doesn't see why he shouldn't become midwife particularly as there is one in Sweden and even five in Ice land. After having tried in vain to talk personally to Frau Kate strobel, federal minister for health and family, nebel (Picture) only sees two possibilities to realize this profession. either to repeal the article concerned or to study medicine whcih, however, won't be possible as his education is not sufficient.
