The Home Office made a condition that Mrs Latham married within the three months. She Arrived with her children- three boys and two girls, aged between two and eleven - and also her fiance, Mr. Ronald Capel, 24, who had been lodging at her home in Newcastle New South Wales, for the past two years. Mr. Capel Decided to return to England with Mrs. Latham so that they could marry in Devon, his home county.
