Stock Photo - Oct. 10, 1956 - Italian beats record in his strange looking car ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú The world record for the 500 cc class over one kilometre from a standing start previously held by the German driver, Von Opel, was broken on Tuesday at Castelfusano, near Rome, by Pietro Taruffi, the Italian driver in a ?¢‚Ǩ?ìdouble-torpedo?¢‚Ǩ¬ù car which he designed himself.
