Stock Photo - Oct. 10, 1958 - Girl Plans To Marry Man In Death Cell: Twenty-two year old Rita McLean was yesterday granted a special license to marry a man due to hanged in 16 days time for murder. The man, 23-year old Donald Forbes, sat in the death cell in Saughton Prison, Edinburgh, last night waiting for final approval for the wedding. This has to come from the Scottish Home Department. Forbes, a trawlerman, was sentenced in Edinburgh last Thursday after he had been found guilty of the capital murder of a 66-year old night-watchman in June. Miss McLean said at the trial that she and Forbes had lived together in a house in Warrender Park-road, Edinburgh, for some moths. She is expecting his child.
