Several tons of fresh herring were landed at Boulogne fish docks at dawn yesterday and four big deep seas stern trawlers were tied up at the Quai du Bassin. When the Daily Telegraph photographers Anthony Marshall was taking pictures the French dock workers tried to persuade him that they were sardines, and not herrings.
