The magistrate ruled they would stay in custody while he considered sentence. Teresa Ann Laws, 14 and Lynn Francis, 16 both from Woolwich, London, had denied committing the offenses, but changed their pleas. The girls, being tried on four charges involving an alleged attempt to smuggle -120,000 in foreign currency out of Kenya after a ten day holiday there, face spending at least the weekend in a Kenya women's prison. The man mentioned as being behind the smuggling, Mr. Madhusudan Madhubai Patel, is said to be in Switzerland.
