She was most well known for the Nazi propaganda movies she made under the control of Hitler & his propaganda chief, Josef Goebels. She was tried and cleared of being a Nazi after the war but by then her career as a filmaker was over. She turned to still photography and spent years photographing the Nubas tribe of Sudan for which she won an award.
