Stock Photo - Sunrise View of Mount Segara Anak Lake, Mount Agung and the thre Gili Isles from the 3726m Summit of Mount Rinjani, Lombok, Indonesia. The push to the 3726m summit of on the final day of the three day Mount Rinjani trek is by far the toughest. After the early morning 3am start, the majority of the 3 hour walk (scramble) to the summit of the active volcano is like walking up an enormous pile of gravel. 2 steps forward, slide one step back. But on reaching the summit of Mount Rinjani it is worth every ounce of effort, being rewarded with sunrise views over the whole of Lombok island, Mount Agung and Mount Batur on Bali, the three Gili Isles (Gili Meno, Gili Trawangan and Gili Air) and, looking to the east, Sumbawa's coastline silhouetted against the sunrise. A once in a lifetime experience that I would 1000% recommend to anyone visiting Lombok. Do not visit Lombok without climbing Mount Rinjani!
