Stock Photo - The sanctuary of the Virgen del Toro is a hermitage located on top of Monte Toro (the highest mountain in Menorca). It is consecrated to the patron saint of the island of Menorca and its diocese (Our Lady of Monte Toro ""o del Toro""). The church, where the wooden altarpiece with the image of the Virgin is located, was built from 1670 on the old gothic church. Next to the church, forming one of the walls of the inner courtyard of the Sanctuary, there is a defense tower built in 1558 on top of the old watchtower.
