Stock Photo - The snake-like rille feature in this 70mm frame, photographed from the lunar-orbiting Apollo 15 Command and Service Modules (CSM) by astronaut Alfred M. Worden, command module pilot, is Schroter's Valley. The long feature is located not far from the crater Aristarcus (out of frame) on the western side of the moon. Center coordinates of the area pictured are located at 25 degrees north latitude and 52.5 degrees west longitude. While astronauts David R. Scott, commander, and James B. Irwin, lunar module pilot, descended in the Lunar Module (LM) Falcon to explore the Hadley-Apennine area of the moon, astronaut Worden remained with the CSM in lunar orbit.
