Landing opportunities on May 22, May 23 and May 24 were waved off due to weather concerns at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the shuttle's primary landing site. Through five spacewalks, Hubble was refurbished and upgraded with state-of-the-art science instruments that will expand Hubble's capabilities and extend its operational lifespan through at least 2014.
