It is located inside the former Saint Paul's Hospital, which hosted Van Gogh in 1889 and 1890. The museum is built around Van Gogh's treatment room in the hospital and contains reproductions of his paintings, original documents and works by artists inspired by his works. Espace Van Gogh has been open to the public since 1995 and is managed by the General Council of Bouches-du-Rhône.
