Stock Photo - This station was opened in 1906. The photograph is of its appliance room station taken prior to the 1920. Fire brigade horses were now being replaced by motorised fire appliances but some remained at this station and their stalls can be seen as Cannon Street's turntable ladder was still horse drawn. However the pump escape (top right) was electric with the batteries under the engines bonnet and the pump is an early petrol driven engine. Note both the brass pole and the horse cart on the right.
