Russian carmaker GAZ started in 1932 as a cooperative enterprise between Ford Motor Company and the Soviet Union. The first manufactured model was a light truck Ford Model AA (NAZ-AA), that is now displayed in front of the factory next to mosaics with communist motives. GAZ, part of there GAZ Group, is the biggest Russian car producer with history dating back to 1932, when the company started manufacturing Ford Model AA light trucks as a cooperative enterprise between Ford Motor Company and the Soviet Union. GAZ become famous for their legendary military jeeps and trucks and also passenger cars Volga, GAZ-M20 Pobeda and Chaika produced in USSR. Nowadays GAZ Group signed a long-term agreement with Volkswagen Group Rus on contract manufacturing at GAZ plant with total investment of EUR200 million.
