Stock Photo - World War II - ITALY. Semovente, L40 da 47/32, Abandoned Semovente da 47/32 1943 2.jpg The Semovente da 47/32 was an Italian tank destroyer used by the Italian Army during World War II. It was based on the chassis of a M13/40, M14/41, or M15/42 tank and armed with a 47 mm anti-tank gun. The Semovente saw action in the North Africa campaign, where it was initially used with some success against British forces. However, as anti-tank gun technology evolved, the Semovente was outclassed by more powerful Allied tank guns. By late 1943, many of the remaining Semoventes had been abandoned due to their inferiority against Allied tanks.
