Fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus), also known as Cape fur seal, South African fur seal and Australian fur seal, South African fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus) is a species in the ear seal family that occurs in two different populations, one in southwestern Africa and one in southern Australia. Cape Cross is a protected area owned by the Namibian State (Ministry of Environment and Tourism) under the name Cape Cross Seal Reserve. The reserve is home to one of the largest colonies of South African fur seals in the world.
