Stock Photo - The Jardin des Plantes is one of seven departments of the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle. Three hectares are devoted to horticultural displays of decorative plants. Founded in 1626 it was originally a medicinal herb garden. and known as the Jardin du Roi. In 1640 it opened to the public.
